Well, like most women, some days doing my hair can be the most stressful part of my day! I have really fine hair, which can be very tricky... And much to the dismay of my mom and sisters, I love to TEASE!!! I mean the rattier the better to get the volume I wish I had. But recently, I came across a YouTube video that has completely rocked my world, i.e. enter the "Sock Bun"! Now, I wasn't sure I had enough hair or was even capable of doing such things with my loathsome locks, but low and behold, with an excellent sock, very little teasing, and hair spray, I have made it a staple in my wardrobe! The sock bun is an easy way to give yourself a really polished look and complete your outfit, especially if you accentuate it with a smoky eye or red lip!
Now, this perfectly crafted bun can be worn on top of your head using a high pony tail or lower ponytail depending on your pony tail preference. And yes, it can easily worn with shorter hair if you use a very low pony tail and roll it up to your head!
Obviously, you'll need a sock (preferably clean) :). Simply follow the instructions above, and you'll have one of the main components to have this magnificent look. My suggestion- try to use a sock close to your hair color. It will be easily disguisable and blend if you were to have any miscues.
And finally, simply follow the instructions above. If those aren't clear enough for you, simply google "how to do a sock bun" and you'll have a plethora of videos happy to teach you!! From experience, I've learned you should have a few things right by you to ensure its an easy process. You will need 2 ponytails/Emi-Jay hair ties, bobby pins, a brush to smooth, and my favorite- HAIRSPRAY. It may take you a few tries the first time, but practice makes perfect!!
So for this week, I think everyone who should give this look a try! Have fun with it and channel your inner to star to rock this timeless look!

PS- Look for pictures and updates from me next week because I'll be heading to Market and New Orleans for jewelry buying expedition! And who knows, you might be able to spot my sock bun along for the ride!!
